The electrification of aviation is a journey that has already begun and the road to passenger planes being powered by electricity instead of fossil fuels is shorter than many people might think. During the autumn of 2021, Swedish regional airports carried out an electric flight tour where Kalmar Öland Airport was one of the stops. Visitors got to know more about how aviation works with the conversion and a chance to test a ride in a 2-seater aircraft, which is powered solely by electricity.
